My name is Jemima A. Jerry, and I am a person with a physical disability. My life changed dramatically at the age of three, when a sudden illness left me physically challenged and required me to navigate the world in a new way. Though the journey was not easy, my spirit remained unbroken. I learned to adapt, finding creative ways to overcome obstacles and pursue my passions.
Over time, I discovered my love for hairstyling and embraced it as a God-given gift to make people feel and look beautiful. I also trained as a Community Health Extension Worker, dedicating my life to promoting wellness in my community.
My story took on a new dimension when I encountered the Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative. Through their programs for women and persons with disabilities, I gained not only practical support but also the confidence to showcase my abilities without fear or limitation. Their trainings and empowerment sessions gave me fresh skills, expanded my network, and strengthened my belief that I could thrive both professionally and personally.
Today, I am more than just a survivor; I am a symbol of resilience and possibility. My journey proves that disability does not define ability, and with the right support system, women like me can rise above barriers to pursue their dreams. I am proud to be part of this movement that uplifts women, youths, and persons with disabilities, and I hope my story continues to inspire others.
