Inclusive Real Estate Sensitization with REDAN, Abuja Chapter

In line with our commitment to promoting inclusion, the Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative (IVWYI) participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Abuja Chapter. At this significant event, IVWYI sensitized developers on the critical aspects of the Disability Act, with emphasis on Part 2, which mandates accessibility in public buildings.

 Focus of the Program
The sessions highlighted the principles of universal design, which call for eliminating physical barriers and ensuring that all individuals, including persons with disabilities, can access and use public spaces independently. Developers were guided through the Disability Act, with detailed explanations of its standards and guidelines for inclusive construction practices.

 Practical Contributions
IVWYI delivered interactive presentations and facilitated discussions that gave developers practical insights into how accessibility features can be integrated into real estate projects from the planning stage. Real-life examples and best practices were shared to demonstrate effective implementation of inclusive design in building structures.
