Disability Inclusion Sensitization with NYSC Charity CDS Group, Abuja

In pursuit of our mandate to promote inclusion, the Inclusive Voice for Women and Youth Initiative (IVWYI) in partnership with Rotary of Abuja Municipal organized a sensitization session with members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Charity Community Development Service (CDS) Group in Abuja. The program aimed to equip corps members with knowledge and tools to embed disability inclusion into their community development activities.

 Focus of the Program
The sensitization highlighted the barriers persons with disabilities face in accessing equal opportunities within communities. Discussions centred on stigma, lack of inclusive planning, and systemic challenges. Corps members were guided on how to design and implement community service projects that foster inclusivity and support marginalized groups.

 Practical Contributions
The session provided corps members with actionable strategies to incorporate inclusivity in their activities. Through interactive dialogue and shared examples, participants gained practical insights into how their roles as youth leaders can drive meaningful change for persons with disabilities.
