Inclusive Education Project

Project Drive is a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of fundamental laws, human rights, and civic responsibilities among students, educators, organizations, and communities in Nigeria. The project seeks to foster positive perceptions of disability inclusion and gender sensitivity, by establishing inclusive clubs in schools and institutions. These clubs serve as platforms for promoting equity, inclusion, and social justice across all levels of society.

 

The project utilizes strategic advocacy and capacity-building approaches to influence key stakeholders, while providing guidance on scalable models for implementation. Project Objectives

 

The core objectives of Project Drive are to:

1.Improve knowledge and awareness of fundamental laws, rights, and responsibilities among students and community members.

2.Promote positive attitudes towards disability inclusion and gender sensitivity in schools, organizations, and communities.

3.Establish and support inclusive clubs as replicable platforms for civic education, inclusion, and engagement.

4.Guide relevant stakeholders on effective strategies to embed inclusion and rights-based education in existing structures.

 

Project Implementation

 

Project Drive was implemented in three strategic phases:

 

Phase 1: Planning and Strategy Development

 

During this phase, the project team developed a comprehensive strategy, including identification of the target audience (students, teachers, community leaders, and organizational heads), key messaging, and delivery channels. Potential partners and stakeholders—such as schools, CSOs, government institutions, and inclusion advocates—were identified to support and sustain the implementation of the project.
